About Dutch Holly

Dutch Holly, a hard hitting indie/altenative rock/pop act from Northern Arizona continues to widen it's sphere of influence and spread it's message of hope and change. Fronted by witchy wild-woman JR, the band is known for it's hard hitting message of cultural revolution and critical thinking and equally hard-hitting yet accessible sound. On FNC (the refrain is "Fear and Consumption" but the title suggests a play on 'Fox News Channel'), a searing indictment of mass-mediated apathy and corruption she sings "I turn off my TV/The revolution starts with me." Live, JR is captivating. she draws the crowd into her experience, pointing out the tribulations we all live with and rails against them, refraining a message of hope and change. By the end of the chorus of "Average Girl" there's hardly a woman in the room who isn't at least mouthing the lyric "I am not just an average girl/change your mind, we can change the world." Changing the world is precisely what Dutch Holly is doing one listener at a time. Recently that endeavor got a major boost as KFLX in Flagstaff, AZ picked up "Average Girl" and put it into regular rotation. A TV appearance and interview on The Artist's Mind, produced by peace activist Dr. Randal Amster is next up for the band. This coincides with the release of their full-length CD, "Pull" in late February 2008. Find out more at www. dutchholly.com
