About Rex Rambler

I have been writing songs for almost as long as I have been playing guitar. For the bigger part of my life, my original music was reserved only for family and close friends. I rarely played any of my stuff out side of that.

From a small town in Southeast Missouri, Rex Rambler has taken a step in a new direction. From truck driver, to independent artist. From the time he inherited his first guitar, there has been a song in heart waiting to be transferred to paper and then to an audience. Now at the age of 40, he has made that fateful move towards giving his music a chance.

His style can be compared to the energy of Waylon Jennings, and the brashness of Johnny Cash, with a twist of David Grey. His performances are capitalized with his passion. His technique is nothing less than what is in his heart. He captivates the crowd with his songs of real life, the performance is punctuated with his jovial yet humble exchanges. From many years of experience, Rex Rambler has developed an uncanny sense of what the crowd wants. Even more exhilarating is the way his original music feeds what the crowd wants.

Rex Rambler's original music speaks to the listener about real life. Although the messages are standard of love, life, and even death, the delivery and approach remain unique.

Pieces Of Time is Rex Rambler's first compilation of his original works. This CD was his own creation and represents the changes in his life. The songs span his song writing life, from the older writings, his family and friends came to know and love to the newer ones which have seen much success on Soundclick.Com charts, and Garageband.Com.

Rex Rambler plays an acoustic Washburn, and a Fender Resonator (slide guitar). With these two instruments, he fills the room with his melodic tunes, and some of the more classic blues from some of his major influences. John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Roger Miller, Ben Harper, David Grey, and Waylon Jennings.

Rex Rambler has always taken a certain amount of pride of never being able to fit in with the “in crowd” his music is no exception. Although, the listener can hear the essence of main stream country, the creations of Rex Rambler remain eclectically outside on the fringes of Popular Country and Rock, with a pinch of Rhythm and Blues.
