About ETHIC

ETHIC (eth' ick)
1. The discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation.
2. A set of moral principles or values.
3. A Connecticut based hard rock quartet that defies any exact genre, or classification, as well as defying all those who said that it couldn't work due to differences in musical backgrounds within the band. Yet three years and forty some odd original songs later Ethic is stronger than ever, and about to take all those non believer's by storm. The founding fathers, Steve Pompei and Rick Scarola have played music together since they were kids. Though the line up has changed a few times in the last 7 years, they finally chose Aaron Travers, a bombastic drummer from South Town, whose energy is unlimited and is a meticulous timekeeper. Enter Richard "Rocky" Sundgren, an established guitarist and songwriter in his own right, who 3 years ago had his own band. Pompei's and Sundgren's musical lives have run parallel, each supporting the other. Finally 3 years ago, after dismissing their current guitar player due to musical differences, Pompei called in a favor. In 2 weeks time Ethic needed a guitar player to open up for Sebastian Bach at the Webster Theatre in Hartford, CT. Sundgren agreed to fill in. Ironically Rocky's band Sylt had just disbanded. The gig was so hot Ethic knew they had to have him. He agreed and we have been writing and playing non stop for the last 3 years. This is the final line up. The magic that these 4 souls create on stage and in the studio is stupifying. With Travers timekeeping, Scarola "the maestro's" technical jargon, Rocky's emotional riffs and Pompei's introspective lyrics and melody make this quartet an absolute phenomenon. Ethic is currently in the studio finishing up our third CD, a 13 track masterpiece of highs and lows and heartfelt music that will blow your fuckin' head off.
