One of the coolest things happening in our town, but you know some people are even cooler than this event, and so we wont see them there. As far as those of you that are interested in being apart of something thats fun and universal. I'll see you there. Bring your drums and people that have drums. Hip-Hop Ballads

2008-04-27

I was just wondering about Hip-Hop ballads. Has anyone heard any recently? I mean ones that are actually saying something other than "Lets Fu%k". Is this a lost art or is this just one of those things that seperate rap from Hip-Hop?
Anyways get at me with a comment. I would like to hear your thoughts on this.
Peaze,

I haven't heard any songs like that in a while either...
I guess maybe if you count that Hurricane Chris song....
I don't know the name of it.
I don't even like Hurricane Chris for real, but thats the only one I can think of.

Yeah, thats what I mean. I cant really think of any. Do you think it's because a lot of the new school rappers lack the capacity to show emotions?
I did a track called "Hot Sauna", the way it turned out kinda reminded me of that type of flow. Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Djmajestic2008-05-02

I agree most rappers do lack emotion exsept for sounding mybe mad but lack all other range. There are some who can put feeling in to it :lil wyane, bizzy, spm, ect. but there more old school..The new school might have better beats but dont have the hart. and if there are they dont get radio play check out Guilty Simpson, ce_lo..ill always bump the real over ring rap.

pachatomz2008-05-02

Yeah I've got those guys, Guilty Simpson, and a lot of "Stones Throw" stuff. "OKay Player" stuff, "Giant Step" stuff, etc.,etc. I wouldnt say that new school has better beats but they do have some crazy trax.
Lil Wayne is great but I just dont see him being a classic mc. some of the stuff he does is way ill, but I think its the beats that mostly make him sound that way. Thats just my opinion, ya dig?
I give him mad props though for havin' to hustle his own shit to the masses. I will give him that. He made hiself. The companies didnt.
