Ha-Ha! So you probably wondering "what the hell is going on" with these recent instrumentals I have been posting.
Well...nothing special has been happening, except that I have just been listening to a lot of world/universal music lately.
You see, The industry is so flooded with beats that sound so manufactured and just put out there for consumption, that the actual essence of tracks has been completely nullified.
Don’t get me wrong though, there are a lot of beats that straight schmack the shit down! But as far as those that can take the same feelings and build on them to reach other realms, and cultures you hardly ever hear of them. Let alone even know we exist!
I am a musician; I play guitar, bass, trap drums, and hand percussion. So I try to utilize all of my talents to create something unique and worthy. Expressing other topics that some take for granted.
I don’t want to dumb down the feelings or messages with in my music because if I do, what does that say about me? Or even more so to the point, What does that say about my thoughts of you.
Check out the new instrumental “2000 Vishnu”

DJ/Producer Challenge on CYQO!

2008-06-21

Ok, If you've read my last blog please tune into this.
All Hip-Hop DJ's, producers, and the likes I have a challenge for you.
Depending on how well the response is I might continue to do them.
I am challenging you to create a beat (just for the fun of it!)
The theme for the track is the Umpa Lumpa's song from "Willy Wonka".
With in the next 2 weeks you should have a track posted that will feature a beat with this theme on your list.
Those that respond to this will be judged by those who have entered.
It is not that serious of a challenge so no haters please!
We are all respectable beginners to advanced DJ's and producers, so if you get beat out then try again on the next challenge.
So get that creative juice flowin' and let’s make it happen.
Holla' if you are up to the challenge.
Peaze,

WTF! Midievil meets Hip-Hop?

2008-06-21

Ha-Ha-Ha! I had a friend who thought that it couldn’t be done.
He said that medieval music could not be mixed into Hip-Hop.
Well, I begged to differ. So here is what I came up with. It's not that it is some kinda' club banger, but It is a Hip-Hop beat with a prominent Medieval element to it.
I used one of my favorite classical musicians "Vangelis" to help me with it.
I thought it was funny, so now I'm $20 richer and have another crazy ass beat for my portfolio.
You know that gives me an idea for a D.J./producer blog challenge just for the fun of it.
If you are reading this keep your eyes peeled for my next blog post coming up.

"Mister" -the freestyle diss track

2008-06-20

Hello, Hello, So I was going through my archive again and ran across this track I did back at the end of 05.
I remember it well.
I was having a problem with some local mc that was tryin' to come up here in Canton. He asked me to record him for a demo to send to some companies.
Now I'm not one to bash on anyone’s style, because anything is possible. Although I didn’t really care for anything this guy had to record.
In return he was to pay me some cash and some stacks of CD's. Fair enough right? I mean I wasn't and still am not fully where I'd like to have been and be as far as being able to produce some really hot studio stuff. But I think I do aright.
So anyway, this guy would show up at odd hours in the night asking me for copies of his whackness. Oops did I say that!
He would show up during the day out of the blue asking for more copies of his bogusness.
To make a longing story short, I had to throw this Phucker out of my house by his neck.
So the next day I found this "Dr. Dre" instrumental and was drinkin' at the time, and well got this project out of it.
My boy Nova came over and heard it and immediately wanted to help charge its energy. So you hear him at the ending of the track as we go back and forth on the mic.
So this is a freestyle diss track that came out kinda' ill I thought.
Check it out and let me know what you think.
The track is called "Mister" -the diss track.

Classical "Vangelis" vs. "Pach Atomz"

2008-06-11

Here’s a track I've had for a while.
I took some classical music from a great composer and jazzed it out with some sick percussion and bass lines.
To those who have never heard of this sound it's called "Acid Jazz".
It's a very melancholy track that stays a little more on the happier side.
The track is called "THE MUSIC BOX" once you hear it you'll understand why.
Go check it out!

Here is something that might be a little diffrent to most of you. It is an instramental track that I did about 5 years ago.
Shango is a praise to the Gods of Thunder.
It is a term that origionates in africa.
This track is personaly one of my favorite beats that I have ever done!
If you wanted to give it a catagory it would be the epitome of "Afro-Beat".
It has a hypnotic driving force of hand percussion as well as some great horn sounds, and haunting banshee harmonies that will possess your spirit like no other!
So when you listen to this track TURN IT UP and let your spirit move you!
Oh yeah let me know what you think of it.
I like constructive critisisms.

Ok I recently re-recorded this one, and to me it almost sounds like a good intro for my next EP. I used some classical "Chopin" piano for a sample, and just put a laid back mellow beat to it. My niece Arielle of the band "Faded Reflection" is rhymin' the hook mostly, but I think I'm in there some where.
It kinda' reminds me of a theme for surviving the shit that we go through.
Like when some people get really great things that they know they don’t deserve.
In example a wealthy millionaire wins the lottery.
Things like people who really are good at what they do don’t get the credit they deserve, so they have to do it ten times harder than the other persons trying to do it.
In example of that, lets look at the saying "It's not what you know, it's who you know".
That's so effed up!
The world is full of haters, so to those of you out there that are really tryin' to handle your biz; keep at it because that just makes you ten times better at it.

If your a "Common" fan I think you'll like this one. It's descriptive.

I just posted a track that I did back in the beginning of 2002 (I think). It was a fun project that I challenged myself to create and to see if I could do it or if it was possible for me. I did two vocal parts through out the song, and composed the beat as well. There are no samples used in this track, but at the beginning with the crowd sounds. Most of my tracks are sample free unless I note it. I.E. "Pesonality Cult" and "Control is Lost".
Anywho the reason I am posting this track is to get some feedback on it. I've listened to this song a thousand times over and I think it's halarious, but I'm just curious as to what you all think.
I dont think I'm going to please everybody with my music, and to me thats not the point. I just simply like to make music and share it with you. Anyways get at me and please let me knowwhat you think about this track.

I created this one somewhere in 1999. I almost forgot about this track.
I used it on one of my compilations from back in the day, and actually put some lyrics on it. Remeber like MTV "You heard it here first!"
Please respect that I am posting thes clips of stuff I created. and by all means do not try to take them from me and use to your own imagination. Thats called bitting!
Dont be a Hater! Dont be a Biter! It's just not good.
If you like the track thats great! Let me know.

But anyways, I am and always have been a fan of Floyd since I was learning tricycle tricks. They have for some reason always been in my childhood.
I know when this track grows up, I'll have to get the rights for the sample usage and make it a man. but for now its a beast. A calm, mellow beast.
I put this up for all you old school cats, and dogs.
Guess the samples and post your answers here.
