KERRANG Review of "Electric" CD....Hell Yeah!!!

2008-04-23

KERRANG.UK APRIL 2008 4/5

Broken Teeth
Electric
(Tex-Tone)
KKKK

A whole lotta riffs from Dangerous Toys frontman's
latest outfit.

Having perfected the hard rock template by the late '70s with their trademark fusion of
bluesy rhythm, crunchy riff and shoutalong chorus, AC/DC have been victim to 30 years of bare face rip-offs. Rarely, however, has a band sounded so gleefully exuberant in recycling old tricks as Broken Teeth do on this latest barnstorming release.
Leading from the front, vocalist Jason McMaster, a bona fide monster of rock himself, has that rare duality of veteran expertise and the vitality of a man half his age. Boasting a band and set of songs to match his energy he delivers nothing but fist-pumping, gear-grinding rock. Best enjoyed in a fast car speeding into the sunset.

Austin Chronical Review of "ELECTRIC" CD

2008-04-14

AUSTIN CHRONICLE 2/15/08BROKEN TEETH- ELECTRIC(TEX-TONE/CARGO)Sweet: the point at which a band begins transcending its influences. Austin hard rock quintet Broken Teeth has screeched first generation AC/DC from its first blown amp, and like the Cult breakthrough of the same title, Electric pounds thrillingly no-frills. Produced by the band,it's ferocious, two guitar duck walk raunches with all the serated inevitability of an outboard motor. The rip chord pulled on opener "Roll Over" dials up Whole Lotta Rosie and Let There Be Rock, but to the song's credit, the rest of its 150 second rush doesn't. More overt are Jared Tuten, and David Beeson firing up, "Blood on the Radio",box set nod "Bonfire",and the ois of "Hangin' by the Skin". Even then, however, Electric pulses it's own personality, frontman Jason McMaster drawing his nails across the band's tattooed upbeat. Amped-up guitar geyser "She's Gonna Blow", "Devil Money", and long time gold crown,"Undertaker",thrust under their own power.make that powerage.***-Raoul Hernandez
