New song from the newest album uploaded
cool website: http://www.myspace.com/bandbeerbelly Listening to: Beer Belly Podcast enclosure: New song from the newest album uploaded 2008-03-23 You can hear it here:Beer Belly - Dunmore Lassies / Dekle je po vodo slo About the song: Dunmore Lassies At first it starts with a slow version of the Irish traditional song called Dunmore Lassies. As you listen it in a minor scale, some short major scale adds on a fiddle come in just to open it up a little bit. You will also hear serbian traditonal drum called "tapan" joining the party and backing vocals doing the same as the fiddle at the end of this first part. Dekle je po vodo slo After the first part, the song turns into Slovenian traditional song, which is played and singed (in Slovene) in an old Slovenian style. After that it turns into Scottish mood (as a march) for a short period of time but quickly turns back into Slovenian style. When this second part ends all the instruments start to play the same song in a minor scale that gives it some russian mood but as it go faster it makes you feel like you're listening a Hungarian traditional music or something similar. So the point of the song is to represent different european cultures and music styles. Hope you'll like it. Official release of Beer Belly’s second album called Giant Finn MacCool
cool website: http://www.myspace.com/bandbeerbelly Listening to: Beer Belly Podcast enclosure: Official release of Beer Belly’s second album called Giant Finn MacCool 2008-02-19 Official release of Beer Belly’s second album called Giant Finn MacCoolSaturday, 15.3.2008, Galerija Dali, Kranj, Slovenia OFFICIAL RELEASE: Official release of Beer Belly's second album called Giant Finn MacCool, will take place in Galerija Dali in Kranj, Slovenia on Saturday, 15.3.2008. The band will perform together with dancers from Slovenian Irish Dancing School as well as with some special guests. ABOUT THE ALBUM AND HIS NAME: There are many heroic legends surrounding Finn MacCool, comparisons have been drawn between him and the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Finn was reputed as being the leader of the Fianna, the guardians of the King of Ireland whom he formed from a rough bunch of warriors in an elite group of men who transformed under his command into the manifestation of justice and honour, they were the people's heroes. Finn's famous son whose mother was the goddess Sadb, is said to be buried in Glenaan. It is worth noting that many of the great legends of Ireland are based or linked to the north coast of Ulster, There must be some correlation between this and the fact that Whitepark Bay was where man first settled in Ireland.. There are lots of different stories about him. You can read it one here : http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=112936129&blogID=359133244 The album will contain of 15 songs and it will be a mixure of traditonal mostly Irish songs (dancing, drinking, love songs), traditional Slovenian songs played in Irish and world etno way as well as Beer Belly's own songs. Three promotional songs from the album will soon be available to listen to here on Cyqo and on MySpace homepage: http://www.myspace.com/bandbeerbelly Click to Comment Tags: irish,scottish,album,music,folk,etno,songs,mp3,slovenia,ireland,scotland,kranj
