Top Artist Going Strong

Just a quick note to let you know the Top 100 Artist list has been updated, and I pretty confident it reflects some solid numbers. This is most definitely a WEEKLY chart, and whatever you did in the previous week has little bearing on this number. Unless of course you count building your fan base.

So you'll see things got jumbled up a bit. Right now you might even be asking yourself "How did I got from top charts, to bottom charts". And I'll tell you, it all depends on Pageviews, Playlist Adds, and a little weight added from how many songs you used to get into the position you want.

This is an algorithm that took me almost a month to figure out, and make fair across the board.

**Warning: No Calculus was hurt in the making of this algorithm!**

Let me give you an example, and anyone who has ever talked to me knows that I am completely open to suggestion with very little argument. As far as I am concerned this is your site and things should be how YOU decide to run them, I'm just a vehicle for programming, with a few crazy ideas.

So, for example, I personally feel someone who acquired 50 Playlist Adds and 1000 Pagviews for the week, using 4 songs should be higher up on the Top 100 Artist List than someone who Had 50 Playlist Adds, 1000 Pageviews using 50 songs. From the artists I asked, this is agreed upon unanimously.

So all this information has been gathered up, and I have written a super duper mathematical formula to calculate your placement...In the works is the +/- system to show users if you made it up or down that week. Working on it now.

Then on to the next programming deal, helping promote your gigs to anyone who stops by the page!
