BIOGRAPHY OF DARK ROSES' FOUNDER, COMPOSER & GUITAR VIRTUOSO, "ROY"



Born in Surinam (South America) and came to 'The Netherlands' at the age of 16. Livin' in the Rock-city 'Rotterdam' he soon started listening to Rock bands such as Black sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Grand funk, The Jimi Hendrix Experience & many many more! This bands Inspired him so much that he decided to start taking guitar and piano lessons by the age of 17.

A few years later at the age of 20 he started a band with friends called 'BLACK TIGERS'and played covers of all his favorite bands. Later on he also started playing Funk, Reggea and some traditional Surinam music.

In 1991 he started a new band called 'SAVIOUR' wich was mostly playing Hard rock and Trash metal orientated music. In 1993 the band recorded an album called "Abracadabra" which was released by the Temptations music label. which resulted in many gigs and media attention all over Holland.

In 2006 Roy came through with a whole bunch of fresh and out of the box musical ideas. This Ideas eventually came to life when the former SAVIOUR / 3RD EYE members followed Roy's vision. After one year of steady rehearsals and a few gigs the band Achieved the'right' sound and eary 2007 the members decided to name the band 'DARK ROSES' which has formed with one purpose in mind, to take there sweet revenge!!!

This technical, and well expierienced band will smash your hometown with their their dirty rotten sound that should be known as the Dark Rose Metal !!!
