Hi.

Glad you asked me that, Mike. Sooner or later I would have to stand up for those lyrics. Story is: We had this booking manager/agency which were not at all what they tended to be. He always booked us at the wrong places. One night it all went pretty bad and the owner of the place went bananas because he had these visions of us being something totally different than we actually were. He wasn't pleased with us being "on" stage and he definately wasn't pleased with us being "off" stage. He accused us for being late for the gig and for working against him. He put the doorman in charge and to watch over us and then he just disappeared. The doorman was this huge mountain size fighter-type and he told us to get the hell up on stage and play the music we were hired to play before something evil happend to us. We did go on stage that night but we didn't play many of our own songs after that. Instead we did covers of Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Eagles and Neil Young. Thank God we knew those songs or else we would've been dead by now. The strange thing is, we got paid after the gig. I simply don't understand it. I would've felt a whole lot better if we didn't get paid. We found out after the gig that the owner of the place had talked to our booking manager for an hour or so while we were playing, naming him the craziest and "funniest" things. I must admit I was scared to pieces, ha ha ha. When we wrote "Bring on the band", I immediately connected to that incident. The song has a certain dark feeling to it. Maybe it's the runaway feeling..
