Hello Brother Doug. Hope this mail finds you well.
I wanted to mail you and share with you how much you remind me of several Delta guitar players, singers and crooners from back in the day. For many years I have studied about Delta musicians of our past.
Just like I will never forget you, I will never forget the day I sat and broke bread with "Honeyboy" Edwards, (played many times with Robert Johnson) and Robert Lockwood Jr., (Robert Johnson's stepson).
When I listen to your recorded tracks I hear a little R L Burnside, Son House, Johnny Shines, Lonnie Johnson, Leroy Carr, Willie Brown, Charlie Patton and Ike Zinnerman. It's like you must have been influenced by someone that had/has been around all these great artist to have that with-in your soul. Maybe your grandpops or like.
Today while listening to your songs and guitar I was recalling some great times I had with my pops in the old jooks when I was a kid. He would take me to the Delta every few years to learn and play along with some of the local performers.
Don't ever quit what you do Brother Doug, you are helping to preserve a most important time of our music's past!
